Live with Heart
Welcome to the Alpha Omega chapter of Sigma Kappa at the University of Alabama! Re-established in 2018, we have a membership of strong women. The vision of our chapter is to build a supportive, well-rounded sisterhood by establishing an identity based on values, accountability, and authenticity. Our chapter is dedicated to Sigma Kappa’s four main values of service, friendship, loyalty, and personal growth. We invite you to explore our website to discover what there is to love about Sigma Kappa.
A letter from the President:
Hello! Welcome to Sigma Kappa's Alpha Omega chapter website. My name is Cassidy Vuylsteke, and I am the Chapter President this year. I am glad you are interested in learning more about our sisterhood! We are a group of strong, motivated women whose shared core values are friendship, loyalty, service, and personal growth. Our chapter provides members with several resources and programs to help them in all aspects of life (we’ve even received the Greek Excellence Award for Outstanding Educational Programming two years in a row!).
We are involved all over campus, whether it’s the Million Dollar Band, the equestrian team, SGA, or UADM. We love to participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s every year, which supports Alzheimer’s research, one of our five philanthropies. We also serve by spending time with patients in memory care units and leading RiverWalk clean-ups to support our philanthropy Inherit the Earth. In our free time, we love going to sisterhood events, like the trampoline park, or socials, like our Frostbite date party we had this past semester.
I know that everyone right now is stuck in a strange, anxiety-ridden time. Maybe some things you were looking forward to were canceled, and you are nervous about the future. The greatest thing I have to lean on right now is not only my family but my sisters. I have had the privilege of finding true friends here in Sigma Kappa that support me in tough times and inspire me to reach my full potential. I am so thankful for everything I have gotten from being a part of this chapter, and I can genuinely say it is the best part of my college experience.
I hope that reading this letter has helped you learn a bit more about our chapter and our sisters. Feel free to explore more of our website!
